Better late than never? For Spring Break, we headed to Mexico and found a little slice of heaven at the Fairmont Mayakoba, located just outside of Playa Del Carmen. The beaches were beautiful, the weather was perfect, the hotel was ideal — we really couldn't ask for anything more. We even decided to be a bit adventurous, renting a car from the hotel and driving down to Tulum (about 45 minutes away) for a morning of Mayan culture and one of the best, most scenic lunches of our lives — seriously, if you're ever there, you must go to Posada Margherita for the freshest, most delicious Italian lunch with a view to die for!
It's been six years since I took a Free to Be Under Three class (boy, those were the easy days!), but today I transported Mom right back there with our 2nd grade concert! We performed Marlo Thomas's famed theme song and put smiles on all of the grown ups' faces. Check it out!
At last year's school auction, Mom and Dad bought tickets to an indoor go-kart place in Jersey City. We figured this was as good a weekend as any to test it out. Dad and I picked out our helmets, watched a little prep video, and headed to our respective tracks for some racing. Needless to say, we felt the need — the need for speed. And we loved it!
'Cause I am! I kicked off the new year by joining a flag football team. Dad and I might have forgotten to mention to mom that it is an outdoor league — but playing in 25* temperatures is really the only way to do this right. Plus, when you're having this much fun, you don't notice when you can't feel your toes!
Oh, and yes, we fell a bit behind in posts last year. We promise to get them going again - and will fill in where we slipped last year in due time. Thanks!
So where do you go to wrap up a birthday celebration? Benihana, of course! Konichiwa!
It's not a birthday celebration without cupcakes at school — but they're even better when Mommy and I make them ourselves. To top it off, we shared my favorite book with the class too. If you haven't read The Amazing Adventures of Bumblebee Boy, you really should. As a younger brother, it's one that I really enjoy!
What do you do when you love both soccer and dinosaurs? You join them together for one epic birthday party! On the day after my real birthday, we celebrated with all of my family and friends at a Super Soccer Stars party that culminated in a dinosaur cake cutting. It was pretty awesome if I do say so myself.
